# Emplotment

Emplotment is a web application for generating, browsing, and editing historical narrative graphs.

It helps historians, students, and other readers compare ways of telling the same historical topic. A user enters a topic or opens an existing emplotment, chooses a historiographical lens and narrative framing, and the app renders an interactive graph of events, agents, institutions, forces, and artifacts. Public emplotments can be browsed without signing in; saving, branching, sharing, and some media features depend on account tier.

## Access

No public stable API or feed is documented in this repository. The site uses internal JSON endpoints under `/api`. Public browsing and limited anonymous generation are available without login. Signed-in users receive monthly credits in code (`free`: 25, `premium`: 100). Premium is required for some features, including AI narration; the repository does not state subscription pricing.
